Style & Copy Editing
This service is performed before proofreading and formatting, whether you're preparing your manuscript for print or to self-publish. There are three different levels within the editing process.
- Throughout the first level of copyediting, I review and correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and ensure proper sequencing in lists and tables.
- Editing on level two includes all first level corrections. In addition, I scan the text to ensure parallel structure, plot progression, consistent style, and tone.
- During level three, I implement all levels of editing. Moreover, wordiness is eliminated, transitions are smooth, and headers are assigned for logical structure.
Proofreading
During the proofreading stage, a specific style guides is utilized, to ensure adherence to writing rules. As the Proofreader, grammatical errors are corrected and previous works are referenced, to ensure text is consistent throughout the body. Most importantly, clear notes and suggestions are given to authors at this stage.
Formatting
Formatting is the last step before typesetting and publication. Utilizing this service will ensure consistency with font, indentation, margins, spacing, and order of text, and above all, improve readability.
